A new study reveals what African-Americans value in a church

The poll was released by the Pew Research Center and it finds that black people who are looking for a congregation to join are primarily interested in how welcoming it is and how inspiring the pastor’s sermons are.

Only 13% of African-Americans say it’s important to worship in a church where most of the congregation and leadership is black.

They also aren’t especially concerned with a church’s denominational affiliation.
