A new study on women and childbearing

VERBATIM: The numbers come from Johns Hopkins University and they indicate that college educated women are now much more likely to have their first child out of wedlock than women who do not attend college. Johns Hopkins sociologist Andrew Cherlin, who did the research, says “The place of marriage in the sequence of life events for emerging adulthood may be shifting among college graduates.” There is also much less stigma surrounding out-of-wedlock births these days.
