Biden discusses inflation, Ukraine war in visit to Illinois farm

President Biden’s trip to an Illinois farm focused on inflation and the war in Ukraine. Speaking from a farm in Kankakee, the president praised American farmers as “the breadbasket of democracy” at a time of food insecurity because of   Russia’s war against Ukraine. He said the U-S is “fighting on two fronts.”
The president announced a doubling of funding for domestic fertilizer production and efforts to increase those eligible for “double cropping” insurance so that farmers can reuse their land for planting in the same year.
