No hostility at Biden-Putin summit, but sharp differences remain

President Biden and Russian President Putin concluded their Geneva summit after roughly three hours. After the summit ended, President Biden was asked about the tone of his talks with Putin.

Putin said the two leaders disagreed on many issues, but there was no hostility.

Both presidents agreed to return their nations’ ambassadors to their posts and begin nuclear arms control negotiations. But sharp differences remain over cyberattacks and Putin’s human rights record.
