Biden tries to ease Ukraine’s concerns over Putin meeting

President Biden is trying to ease Ukraine’s concerns about the upcoming U-S meeting with Russian President Putin. Ukrainian President Zelenskyy has raised concerns about next week’s Biden-Putin summit and requested to meet with President Biden beforehand. There won’t be a meeting, but National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan says the two men spoke by phone. Sullivan says the president told Ukraine’s leader “that he will stand up firmly for Ukraine sovereignty.” Mr. Biden also invited Zelenskyy for a White House visit this summer.
