Inflation Is On the Rise


It’s more evidence of inflation’s all-encompassing grip on the U.S. economy. Rich Thomason has this report.


VERBATIM: It’s not confined to the gas pump or the supermarket, inflation is also taking a toll on big infrastructure projects, forcing state and local officials to postpone some projects, scale back others and re-prioritize their needs. Some examples of inflation’s impact on infrastructure: The price of a foot of water pipe in Tucson is up 19%. The cost of a ton of asphalt in a small Massachusetts town: up 37%. The estimate to build a new airport terminal in Des Moines: 69% higher. Rich Thomason reporting.
