Supreme Court to hear case of praying football coach
The U-S Supreme Court this week will hear arguments in a case of a Christian football coach who lost his job for praying with students. The Bremerton School District, near Seattle, refused to let high school coach Joe Kennedy pray at midfield with students immediately after football games. Kennedy’s First Amendment case lost at every turn, including at the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. However, Supreme Court Justices Alito, Thomas, Gorsuch and Kavanaugh called the 9th Circuit’s reasoning “troubling” — and the high court is now set to hear the case.
