White House urges “compromise” in stalled OPEC oil talks

The Biden administration is pushing for a “compromise solution” in the stalled OPEC-plus oil output talks.  After oil talks broke off, the White House said it is “closely monitoring” negotiations and their impact on the global economic recovery. The U-S is not a party to the OPEC-plus talks, but a White House spokesman said “administration officials have been engaged with relevant capitals to urge a compromise solution that will allow proposed production increases to move forward.” A rise in oil prices has helped fuel inflation concerns.
