China targets Christianity

China's multi-year crackdown on Christians continues. There
have been several reports this month of Chinese police breaking up house church
worship sessions, arresting and interrogating leaders and laymen. It is
officially illegal in China to worship outside of a government regulated church
and house churches are always subject to raids. As part of the crackdown,
Chinese authorities are also pulling down crosses from the steeples of
government approved churches in an effort to lower the profile of Christianity.
These actions do not appear to have affected the spread of the Gospel in
China, where thousands come to Christ each week.
