A victory for religious expression on graduation day

Colorado Mesa University says it will NOT force all students speaking at commencement ceremonies to remove references to religion from their speeches.

School officials relented after getting a demand letter from Alliance Defending Freedom that explained how the First Amendment protects student speech.

ADF spokesman Travis Barham says the Supreme Court “has never required universities to purge ceremonies of all things religious.”
